Hopefully everything you have ever wanted to know about Pork Scratchings.
This website provides information about Pork Scratchings / Crackling / Rinds including some rather fetching Pack Pictures, A collection that started before this website did. Click here for the HBS news section, (ir)regularly updated with all the latest Pork Scratchings news we can get.
The name of this website originates from the nick-name for pork scratchings, coined by myself and a few friends. We don't generally eat scratchings unless we are at the pub. The pub sells many types of 'bar snacks', and as we all know pork scratchings have a slight tendency to be hairy, so therefore HAIRY BAR SNACKS.
We would like this site to eventually be the one stop shop for all hairy snacks that you may purchase from your local public house bar.
We have a few sections that may be of interest to you. We are endeavouring to fill the pages with as much as we can find out, but would like to take this opportunity to ask for YOUR HELP. If you find anything that might be of interest to us that we have not yet included, please let us know. Many people have submitted information and pictures, and we thank you all.
So far we have managed to scan in some of our Pork Scratching Bags which we have been collecting for a few years now. We have a section for real images of real scratchings. A comprehensive list of Pork Scratching reviews and an irreverent look at the pubs that supply us in our hour of need, the hairy bar section.
Our shop is underway, selling pork scratching t-shirts for guys and girls. Hopefully soon you can buy some actual scratchings which you can smuggle into the poorly supplied of pubs. There's a little bit of History, and the different names and types of pork scratchings / rinds found throughout the world. Our links page has an extensive list of for further reading. If this thing really takes off, we will be creating the 'Hairy Bar Snack Forum' where you all can discuss everything that takes your scratchy fancy.
