Fistly, we notice a nice smell, not fishy or stale.
The pieces are very dark in colour, and most seem to be fairly bite sized, not massive chunks.
These are very hard and dense, about as far from the other end of the spectrum as you can get (namely Pork Crunch)
The pieces are also very toe-nail like. What we mean by this is that they are not flat, but the skin curls around the fat and meat to make a savoury soft centred treat!
Quite a few small bits, like little flakes of skin or fat or meat, in fact there are rather a lot of small bits that have not, as you might expect, fallen to the bottom, but are in the main mix of things.
No hairs.
